Nova Mutum Paraná
The urban project of Nova Mutum Paraná was built by JIRAU ENERGIA and delivered in January 2011 to the administration of the Municipality of Porto Velho. Composed of 1,600 houses in a total area greater than two million square meters and capacity to receive up to six thousand inhabitants.
Located on BR-364, 120 km from the capital of Rondônia, Nova Mutum Paraná is synonymous with quality of life. Highlight for the city's infrastructure, designed to meet the needs of the local population: paved streets, elementary and high schools, day care, health center, District Administrative Center, Integrated Public Security Unit (UNISP - Military Police, Civil Police and Environmental Police), mobile and internet 4G telephony, basic sanitation, selective garbage collection, electricity utility, leisure areas and landscaping, recreational club, shopping mall, bus station, well-structured local commerce and farmer’s market.

The construction of Jirau HPP, in addition to helping to meet Brazil's energy demand, contributed to the economic and social development of the region. One of the 34 Socio-environmental Programs developed in the implementation phase of the project was Social Compensation, whose actions had a direct impact on the social and economic development of the plant's area of influence.

ENVIRONMENTAL OBSERVATORY
Created in June 2009, the Observatory is a social organization that aims to contribute to the sustainable development of communities located in the area of influence of the Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant. Among its actions are courses and workshops offered to the general population and technical support for the implementation and improvement of economic, social and environmental activities.
